Jungho Geortay, SaintPaul’s designer, created his brand 5 years ago in Paris as a way of
expressing himself along his work as menswear director at Paul & Joe.
All the shirts are placed, a technic used by luxury brand, to give out exactly the pattern imagined by the designer.
Who are you?
Belgian, from Korean origin, I am a menswear designer. I have been working for houses like Lanvin, Kenzo et Jean Paul Gaultier. Artistic director, I also developed, with Armor Lux’s in-house teams, the new Armor Lux “Héritage” line. SaintPaul, my own brand, started five years ago. It is now a confidential luxury brand sold in some of the best fashion boutiques in the world.
How would you define your style?
SaintPaul is a response to the aspiration of a new generation whose relationship to fashion has changed. I draw all my prints by hand, directly design and create specific details of my garments in the workshop, and combine different sources of inspiration. By doing so I try to create a universe which is equally meaningful for the craftsman, the customer and for myself. This is very much reminiscent, I believe, of the philosophy of traditional luxury houses.
